Components
Rice
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. Rice (see component)
6 green bell peppers
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers.
Arrange peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward. (Slice the bottoms of the peppers if necessary so that they will stand upright.)
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the beef until evenly browned, place to side.
In a bowl, mix the browned beef, cooked rice, 1 can tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper.
Mix the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning in a bowl, and pour over the stuffed peppers.
Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, basting with sauce every 15 minutes, until the peppers are tender.
Rice
Ingredients
1 c. rice
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
Steps
Gather the ingredients.
Follow the instructions that come with your rice cooker and the type of rice you are preparing.
For most rice cookers, combine 1 1/2 to 2 cups of liquid with 1 cup of rice; this will yield about 3 cups rice or enough for 6 (1/2 cup) servings.
Turn the rice cooker on and let it cook according to the instructions.
Most rice cookers can keep the cooked rice warm for hours without burning. Check to see if your rice cooker has a specific warming setting or if it will activate automatically.
